Evidence for Democracy, The Council of Canadians – Hamilton Chapter and The Hamilton 350 Committee are co-sponsoring this screening of the fifth estate documentary Silence of the Labs, exposing the shocking and far-reaching damage that government policies are causing in Canada. A lively discussion will follow featuring these panel members:

Don McLean from Environment Hamilton will address the impacts the loss of science is having on the Environmental Movement itself.
Dr. J. Roger Jacobs, Chair of the Dept. of Biology at McMaster will talk about the conditions that are necessary for science to inform policy.
Dr. Pat Chow-Fraser, Director, Life Sciences Program at McMaster will discuss the impacts of these cuts to habitat and ecosystem restoration.
Paul Berton, Editor of The Hamilton Spectator talking about the importance of civic engagement in resolving issues in our society.
