Um...

I've long been intrigued-from-afar by Mayor Nenshi. Regardless of his mis-steps in office, I do appreciate many of his qualities, including his energy and enthusiasm.

But who thought it was appropriate for a mayor from another city to be headlining a speech/Q&A FOUR DAYS BEFORE A LOCAL ELECTION?

I guess that I could question Mayor Nenshi's Chief of Staff's sense of propriety (or their common sense) in allowing such a booking.

I could do the same with the event's moderator Jennifer Keesmaat, Chief Planner of the City of Toronto.

But I think it's far more appropriate that the Chamber of Commerce, and its CEO Keenan Loomis respond to the notion that this evening is at best, ill-advised, and its worst, a potential manipulation of the voting process, no matter how trifling.

I'm not the first to raise this flag: Hamilton's Local Journalist Joey Coleman did so two weeks ago:

I have faith that Joey will follow up on his piece and get some straight answers from all those involved.
