It seems crazy to me that Hamilton's chief virtue right now seems to be it's "authenticity". If you don't believe me, just watch Ec-Dev's recent "Ambitious City" video. It's pretty thick with blue-collar romance.

Don't get me wrong, I love that we have a deep architectural and cultural history here, and I'm happy that people want to move in. The weird part to me is why anyone thinks Hamilton (and specific "dives" within) are more "authentic" than any other place, and why that sentiment is worth money to people. I worry that our current popularity is nothing more than a response to some societal malaise, and that it will all dry up when the winds of fad change. Hopefully we can use the interim support to build some lasting value.
