At the end of the day, this is affordable housing. I imagine that if you proposed swapping CCTV security parking square footage for food security square footage, you might have traction with City Hall. But we were all so giddy about the razing of a slum tenement that we didn't consider the bigger picture.

All I'm saying is that the "priority" of "a selection of food stores" didn't appear to be an issue at all. Maybe because they're only six blocks from No Frills and right next door to Denningers.

Ditto for his West Avenue North conversion, which is situated four blocks from a grocery store.

I imagine Mr. Spallaci is more concerned about his ability to make a Connaught conversion work in the absence of a grocery store downtown. My guess is that there's 22,000 square feet handy at street level. I wonder if anyone will connect the dots?
