Its a very important discussion to have. But lets be realistic. Parcelling up this land and building townhouses throughout most of it will not pay for the remediation down there. The environmental assesment that was done shows a huge difference between remediating for residential and commercial. Unfortunately, Bob Young and Bob Bratina did such a great job screwing up the type of anchor project (ie the stadium) that would have allowed for the less costly and less problematic remediation of the west harbour. Until we can attract a significant and appropriate anchor project for the west harbour, we're spinning our wheels...
