I'll take a stab at it.
There are partitions between the bike/walking paths and the flow of traffic
It's an important artery connecting downtown Dundas and the links with highway 6, Waterdown, and the edges of Dundas
It's not an urban area by any stretch (once you pass the university there's no homes until beyond Olympic
There's no need for traffic calming along here (can't think of any time I've seen a collision in this area)
