Not that i can understand..if they are spayed, neutered,& properly cared for. This law may have been passed as a (poor) reaction to the Animal Nuisanceargument. "Too many strays". (Not much of a solution!)

One thing that nobody has mentioned in this debate is that Vietnamese Pot Bellied Pigs are legal licensed animals in the City of Hamilton. These animals can get to become very large (8 to 136 kg (20 to 300 lb)

If The City has already allowed one "farm animal" to be legal here, why not much smaller ones?

It's also worth noting that according to Hamilton bylaws, your Chihuahua is not allowed on any playing field, school yard, or playground, with a possible fine of $20,000.00 to the owner if this occurs. But you can bring your 200 lb. pig to school or your child's soccer game.

A pig can bite, & can in fact break an adult's arm or leg bones with one crunch. Pigs have killed their owners by knocking them over & savaging them when they fell. (I've never heard of 'Murder by a 1000 pecks'.)

If any one here has had the duty to clean up after a pig, I think you would agree that cleaning up after 3 or 4 chickens is a whole lot less work, & a lot less sickening.

So how many complaints has City Hall had about Pot Bellied Pigs?
