One of my biggest concerns in terms of 'great local governance' is finding ways to get the uninformed, the disinterested and the un-engaged to the table and be part of the process. But I'm beginning to wonder if just as powerful a potential bulwark are those who suppose to know better, and get involved in stuff that's clearly well beyond them.

So the "uninformed, the disinterested and the un-engaged" need to come to the table, but Ryan shouldn't? If this stuff is "well beyond" him, why isn't it beyond them? Or, for that matter, why isn't it beyond you?
