Corporate downsizing is not what we should be comparing our educational system against.

Why not when many of the people affected by it have gone through that very educational system? Were they not taught Critical Thinking? Were they unable to reason that their jobs were doomed or that the economy was imploding? Were their math skills inadequate? Are your students properly prepared for uncertainty? I think not.

Just because you are protected by a UNION or TENURE doesn't mean you should walk out on your responsibility to educate. We, the majority of hardworking Canadian do not even have that option. And to think y'all still get paid while you disrespect the mothers and fathers of your students. The hardworking Canadians, with the Sword of Damocles dangling over their heads day after day. The hardworking Canadians that actually have jobs, to pay the taxes that pay you to STRIKE, while we are forced to pay additional child care while you resolve your petty disagreements with Ford. Honk your horns for the teachers!

Next time you protest, why not try scribbling your own picket signs instead of using the prefab ones provided by my tax dollars. By your own chalk and poster board if you truly believe in what you're doing because I don't.
