The concrete road problem with BRT is usually where many buses travel the exact path forcing wear to occur in the same place. All concrete busway rights of way would be extremely expensive in our climate but putting concrete surfaces around the routing into and out of BRT stations is usually the more affordable choice. However, this requires especially strict vigilance around the maintenance of BRT rights of way and BRT stations that, most BRT supporters don't truly understand, unless you have personally seen how quickly asphalt BRT roadways can crumble into dust and debris due to heavy bus traffic.
