I totally agree. One of the key advantages of LRT is that it is quiet, which facilitates running it through public spaces that are pleasurable to spend time/money visiting in a way that bus-based transit is not. One of the major examples given in favor of brt was the success of south american systems like the Transmilenio in Bogata, but those buses often run down the center of a busy throughfare,
cancelling out the vibrancy that might otherwise be brought by high-order transit. Electric rail, on the other hand, can run down a narrow street and not diminish the experience of eating at a restaurant patio since it is quiet.
