Or maybe it's because the homes there are incredibly cheap considering their location. Where else can you buy a house in basically downtown Toronto for $250,000? If you check the MLS the closest houses on the mainland start at $800,000 and quickly climb to over a million. All of a sudden the inconvenience of living on the island aren't so bad. Combine that with the inherent benefits of living on the island no wonder the lottery is getting more and more popular. But is it due just to the life style of living on the island? Not a chance in hell.
