Offtopic, but...

What I've noticed in your interesting link is that in 2013, there was only 2 smog advisories for Hamilton. There are several metrics where our air is now cleaner than Toronto. Not all metrics, but...

Newer data may yet improve further. Ontario shut down Nanticoke coal generation in 2013 (it seemed far dirtier than our steelworks!) -- and there is no more coal power generation in Ontario since 2014. So none of that is wafting towards us anymore.

As a result, we might end up having zero smog advisories in a year later this decade. Even with the still-operating steelworks that, thanks to the escarpment air flows and lake effects, pushes the air out of smell range either outwards or upwards above the vast majority of the city. In the last 365 days, I've only smelled the steelworks once when near them -- when a strong wind was blowing it towards Centre Mall. Steelworks smell currently in modern times, seems to have not reached Lower City Gage Park area where I live, in the time I've lived here. And I have never smelled the coke smell in downtown Hamilton in my lifetime.

Hamilton, steel city, zero smog advisories? Wow.
