Tomorrow, Wednesday December 5, is the last day to vote for the 2007 Hamilton Urban Design and Architecture People's Choice Award.
The eight nominees were chosen by a jury of city staff and design professionals, and this is our chance to decide which one makes the best contribution to our shared space.
For a more in-depth look at each nominee, check out John Burman's series in the Spectator.
One of the more distinctive entries is the James North Art Crawl. As John Burman puts it, "It could be the first time an idea has won a design and architecture award."
While I'm not entirely convinced a design and architecture competition is the best forum in which to honour the Art Crawl, let's hope its inclusion is a recognition by the city that creative capital is as much a part of our infrastructure as bricks and mortar.
The winner will be announced at the start of the December 12 City Council meeting.
