The Stroke of a Pen

By Ben Bull
Published July 06, 2007

Sometimes the most astute political commentary can be found in between the headlines.

This was admirably illustrated in a classic two-line letter to the editor in yesterday's Toronto Star:

With the stroke of a pen, U.S. President George W. Bush spares convicted felon Lewis 'Scooter' Libby any imprisonment, whereas the much-reviled Hamas effect the release of long-captured reporter Alan Johnston through diplomatic diligence. Comments anyone?

Enough said.

Ben Bull lives in downtown Toronto. He's been working on a book of short stories for about 10 years now and hopes to be finished tomorrow. He also has a movie blog.
