Pedestrian Killed on Hwy 8 in Stoney Creek

Hamilton Police Services report that an elderly man was killed on October 13, 6:57 PM on Highway 8 in Stoney Creek. The man was crossing Hwy 8 northbound near Spartan Plaza when a motor vehicle struck him in the second lane from the north curb.

The driver, a 39-year-old Stoney Creek resident, fled the scene but was arrested soon afterwards at his residence. The pedestrian died at the scene of the collision.

Police are asking any witnesses to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 905-546-4755.

That's a real problem area. There have been several pedestrian collisions there. I'm surprised that a cross walk hasn't been put in there already. I'm sure it won't be long now.

Notch another one up to Two Way streets.
