Reminder: RTH Cutover This Weekend

By Ryan McGreal
Published December 11, 2009

Just a reminder: this site will be cut over to a new webserver this weekend. You can read the details here.

Tonight I'm going to turn off the comments, comment voting, events posting and user registration functions on the old site and then port all the data over to the new database server.

Then I'll update the DNS for the raisethehammer.org domain so it points to the new server address. The DNS servers across the internet should all be updated by the end of the weekend. In the meantime, you may experience some access disruption.

If you experience any major failures or the new website throws any errors, please either email me with the details or else post them to our issue tracker.

Thanks for your patience during this transition. The end result should be a more stable website running on an open platform that we can more easily improve with new features.

couple things:

  1. it's not keeping me logged into the site anymore.
  2. How do I quote someone else's comments like the posters above?

Will be formatted like this:

This will be a block quotation.

Otherwise, I'm not sure why your login state isn't retaining. I'll look into it. - ok, well part of the quote showed up in that format.

I'll figure it out eventually. LOL. I'm staying logged in no probs now. Thanks.

Looking good, guys! Congrats on the cutover.

Hey, have you thought about a mobile edition? The site looks a bit cramped on my iphone. Just a suggestion!

I swear I tried several times and it just rearranged my list into a line every time - whether i put spaces, no spaces, blank lines before etc.. but whatever was going on it's working now!

I'm not a techie at all so I have no clue how easy it is, but a mobile site would be awesome.
